CeMoG: a brief portrait

The Centrum Modernes Griechenland (Center of Modern Greece, or CeMoG) of the Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin) supports the interdisciplinary cooperation between Germany and Greece in the fields of research and teaching. Its activities, which focus on bridge building within the context of the European integration process, include the intensification of the Greek-German scientific and cultural transfer through the creation of networks of scientists and artists, the historical research of the cultural transfer between the two cultural spheres, the formation of interdisciplinary working groups which carry out international research projects, the development and deepening made in the fields of modern Greek studies and teaching at the Freie Universität Berlin as well as the promotion and publication of Greek fiction and scientific literature in German.

The CeMoG is established at the Department of Philosophy and Humanities of the Freie Universität Berlin and could not exist without the generous support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
