Auftakt-Workshop Viaggio da Berlino a Zante
Der Auftakt-Workshop zum Forschungsprojekt Viaggio da Berlino a Zante hat das geistige Umfeld erschlossen, in dem die Denker und Literaten der Ionischen Inseln im 19. Jahrhundert ein Kommunikationsnetzwerk zwischen verschiedenen sprachlichen und nationalen Räumen etablierten. Ziel des Workshops war der Austausch über das Projekt und seine Fragestellungen mit Fachwissenschaftler/innen, die sich schwerpunktmäßig mit der Erforschung der Kulturtransfers mit Ausgangs- oder Zielpunkt der Ionischen Inseln beschäftigen.

Workshop in Athen (September 2018)
Im Rahmen des 2. Workshops zum Thema Ionische Gelehrten auf der Schwelle der Moderne wurde laufende Forschung zur Ästhetik, Philosophie und Geschichte auf den Ionischen Inseln im 19. Jahrhundert präsentiert. Der Workshop fand in Zusammenarbeit mit der Zeitschrift Nea Estia statt.

Konferenz in Berlin (Dezember 2018)
The International Conference "The World Spirit in the Mediterranean of the 19th Century. Hegel in Italy, Spain, Greece" examined Hegel’s reception in the comparative context of nineteenth century European Mediterranean countries against the background of their respective historical developments. In the course of the complex processes by which their national, political and cultural identities were redefined, the transmission of Hegel’s philosophy and its criticism played a substantial part in the shaping of national philosophical landscapes and of corresponding political ideas, aesthetic views and literary forms. Retracing the path of Hegelian concepts, with its twists and turns, from Berlin to the Italian, the Spanish and the Greek cultural space, should shed light not only on their development, but also on the universal claims of the World Spirit itself.
